Pip a black labrador who came to visit for her photographs. Despite taking numerous images, none were suitable, as she just wasn’t having any of it! Eventually her owners were able to capture pip how they wanted her painted at home.
Photographing pets can be tricky, the aim is to make them feel as relaxed as possible. Black dogs especially are more difficult, however in the right light you will be able to see many different colours.
I ask that pets are photographed on a bright overcast day, so as to not to attract harsh shadows. There are lots of hues in a black coat, purple, reds and blues. You will need enough light, but avoid sunlight. The sunlight will wash out the softness and create sharpe silver highlights on the coat.
