Where possible I will work to standard frame sizes although custom sizes can be arranged and for multiple pets this may be necessary.
Pet Portrait Sizes
10″ x 12″ dog / cat / small animal or small pony
12″ x 16″ one or two dogs / full body dog or cat / horse (head/shoulders)
14″ x 18″ larger portraits or full body
16″ x 20″ large portraits or full body including horses (collection only)
I do prefer to frame commissioned paintings where possible as this ensures their safety. Pastels as a medium is extremely delicate therefore can smudge very easily, so minimal handling is necessary. Paintings are stepped away from the glass using spacers in the frame rebate as opposed to mounting. This allows for any dust particles to fall into the recess. By using the finest pastels on the market which are lightfast against strong sunlight expensive UV filtered glass is not necessary. It is still recommended though to hang your painting in a shaded position.
A rough mockup in photoshop is provided taking out any unsightly background. Replacing with tonal colours or a blurry scenery providing you with a feel of how it will look. You don’t need to worry about photographing multiple pets together as I can place separate images together.
